Ampeg Bass Amplifier

The 12 Days of PedalsAndEffects, Day 12: Ampeg PF-500 Bass Amplifier and PF115HE Bass Cabinet

On the twelfth (and final!) day of PedalsAndEffects you have a chance to win….Ampeg PF-500 Bass Amplifier and PF115HE Bass Cabinet!

I have been a proud endorsee of Ampeg since the early 90′s.  They make the best bass amplifiers in the world.  Whether I am using their tube or their solid state bass amplifier, Ampeg cannot be touched.  If you’re looking for bass amplifiers to use with pedals and effects, Ampeg is absolutely the only choice.  The head room on their amps can handle any effect you throw at it.  I toss subs, distortions, fuzzes and micorsynthesizers at them and they never let me down and add to the overall sonic assault.

Now YOU can own a rig similar to the one I have been using for the last two years in The Mars Volta: theAmpeg PF-500 and PF-115HE as seen here in this video:

I think anyone who likes my bass playing and sound must know that Ampeg has helped me get to where I am today.  Ampeg has been helping bassists since the 60′s and they continue to evolve with smart design and awesome sound.

I will be at the Ampeg booth at this year’s 2013 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.  Please come by and say hi if you are going to be there.

  1. Jason says:

    Happy Holidays

  2. John says:

Three minute videos. I’ve got short attention span. I get that there are often more things you would want to cover than 3 minutes would allow, but the solution is to break the content into multiple short videos that cover different subtopics. Helps when someone really wants to cut to the chase of a specific question they want to answer rather than waiting or trying to skip ahead.

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Kenton says:

10 minutes would be great loads of playing and talking about the pedal.

  4. Luca Gaverina says:

6 minutes, not too short, not too long. :D
    Merry Christmas!!!

  5. Mat Mathews says:

    C) 10 minutes. The more the merrier!

  6. Geeodin says:

    6 minutes

  7. Gary says:

Merry Christmas one and all :) and 10 minutes so things can be explained without needing to rush through.

  8. Dennis says:

It depends on the content. If you do longer videos like the fuzz wars its great, but some of the demos for “one trick pony”-pedals seem to be too long for my attention span.

So I’d have to go with Option B.

  9. Damien says:

6 minutes i believe would be great.. enough time to say a couple of things and then give a sample!

  10. Kelly says:

I say C: when I am really interested in buying gear, I want to see it put through its paces. 2 minutes won’t do. Happy Holidays to all!

  11. Jeff says:

    Merry Christmas, Juan!

  12. Julian says:

Difficult to say… some topics deserve even more than 10 minutes. So my choice would be 6 minutes for regular topics, 10 minutes (or more) for the most interesting ones!

  13. Josh Kampa says:

6 minutes is a happy medium.

  14. MikeG says:

Based on subject matter the length could vary. For basic overviews the three minute option is probably good. But a 6 or 10 minute video packed with how-to is always welcome. Thanks for the past 12 days Juan, Merry Christmas!

  15. Marshall says:

It depends on the pedal, but 10 minutes is good if a complex or multieffects. Six might be fine for others though. Thanks!

  16. Jeff says:

I’m all for the 10 minute demos – show as many features as you can!

  17. Definitely 6 minutes. There are other shorter videos out there and I like how in depth your reviews can be! Merry Christmas!

  18. Marc-Antoine says:

    10 minutes!

  19. Aaran says:

Six minutes. It’s long enough to cover some content but short enough that you don’t get too bored. Also, thanks so much for doing these giveaways!

  20. Ewen Cameron says:

6 minutes is enough time to cover most things nicely :)

  21. Daniel Wheeler says:

AMPEG POWER AND TONE … would be a nice add on to my rig!!!

  22. sillyfabe says:

depending on the content but overall 6 minutes.

  23. james strain says:

6 minutes seems to be a safe bet, not too long but long enough to get a decent amount of stuff covered. of course, you can always come back to topics with a part 2 if needs be!

  24. Rolf says:

Yeah, C is my answer. With your knowledge and the lack of good in-depth reviews regarding pedals, I’d love it.

  25. luke says:

    id say about 6 minutes

  26. Gregg says:

6 minutes is a good length.

  27. Dan says:

6 minutes unless you’re reviewing 5 or 6 pedals at once.

  28. I would like 10 minutes videos (C). Merry Christimas!

  29. Rachele says:

A and B are around the right length. It really depends on what you are talking about. Happy Holidays! <3

  30. Dominik says:

6 minutes! maybe sometimes 10, but definitely not 3…

  31. Robert says:

Definitely 10 minute videos or longer. I love seeing equipment pushed to the limits and combined in awesome ways.

  32. Asbjorn says:

3 mins is too little. 6 is fine. Your inspirational attitude can fill up even 10+ ;-)
    Thanks and happy holidays!!

  33. Jan says:

    B) 6 minutes…. 3 minutes way 2 short 2 pack with all the information…. when several effects compared like fuzz wars then rather 10 minutes length 2 get an idea bout the single units…. so plz stick with your quality and dont shorten it up since this page is more about information and less about entertainment i’d say…
    Thx 4 readin,
    merry xmas everybody!!!

  34. Meeks says:

i’d say 10 or shorter if you can cover everyhing :) so C

  35. I think 3-6 minutes would work depending on the pedal. Obviously some pedals have more advance features than others and those would need a bit more time to demonstrate.

  36. Henry says:

C, Mat got it right – the more, the merrier.

  37. Deo Mendoza says:

    3 minutes.

  38. Tomi says:

six minutes is a good length for a video , it´s long enough the people with short attention span but you can also put a lot of info into six minutes

  39. Keith Paul says:

    6 minutes is proper!

  40. Rees says:

10 minutes! I watch all the videos as they come up and they are very informative. The more info the better!

  41. Mauricio Soto says:

6 minutes. Perfect for US with short attention span but long enough to go in depth on the pedal/effect/coolpieceofequipmentyouhavethere.

  42. amenaza says:

    Buone Feste!!!!

  43. Thomas says:

I would say C, to be able to discuss one pedal in detail or multiple ones like the fuzz wars. Keep up the good work!

  44. Justin says:

    B. you can get a lot of information in 6 minutes.

  45. ScrollBass27 says:

3 minutes me thinks. There are too many guys putting on 10 minute videos of them just playing. Ok you can play, who cares. All you need is 3 minutes to do some samples.

  46. Vincenzo says:

I would like 10 minutes myself, but I think 6 minutes makes the most sense for the masses. Also, I would like to see more of you rolling through settings you’re not familiar with. I very much enjoy your insight and demonstration of use of the effect, but there are time in a demo (yours or otherwise) where there is a desired setting I’d love to hear and never do. Your Grand Oribter video was great for this. My only criticism would be I couldn’t see the knobs. The Loud Button demo was great for this. Anyways, happy holidays to you and I look forward to another year of Pedals&Effects. Let’s make shirts!

  47. amenaza says:

    6 minutes…..

  48. stephen says:

Well for me, I love the longer 10 minute videos, because they really showcase the depth of what you can do with the pedal that you are showcasing.

  49. Anonymous says:

As long as you need 3 minutes is good depends on what ur reviewing

  50. Alex says:

10 minutes, BUT with an “index” so that if you are interested in a particular bit you can jump to it.

  51. Coreymcd says:

I would say 6 minutes most of the time, but sometimes it’s good to have a little range. The fuzz wars videos that get close to 10 minutes are cool and informative too.

  52. Mikel Arambarri says:

I think 6 minutes would be good for the videos. That way they’ll have a little more meat to them, but they won’t take up too much time. Feliz Navidad everyone!

  53. Mariano says:

    Six minutes is perfect.

  54. Will Grandin says:

I feel like 6 minutes would be the best. 3 minutes isn’t long enough to learn enough about the pedal and 10 minutes might be too long; you can get the idea of the pedal in about 5 minutes.

  55. Karl Boson says:

    c) Ten minute videos would be nice. They could be structured into 3-6 minutes in the beginning that focus on you, showcasing the effect with your playing and then leave the rest of the video to talk about experiences with it, studio stories and all sorts of trivia that the hardore listeners would like to hear!

  56. Mauricio Soto says:

And Merry Christmas to all of You!

  57. Mitchell Lebron says:

    C. 10 minutes easy or longer. The longer the more in depth you can be and the better explanations

  58. ordep resplandor says:

6 minutes. not too long, but no need for part 2′s either.

  59. Jake says:

6 minutes, 10 is too long for my attention span!

  60. Vince Tai says:

    6 min!! Happy holidays!!

  61. be4stynacho says:

depends on the vid its your site do yo thing mang.!

  62. jackie says:

    6 would be great

  63. basst0r1 says:

    6 is best

  64. MightyMightyQuinn says:

I would say it really depends on what’s being featured, but 10 minutes is good. You can really go into depth that way.

  65. Marko says:

    6 minutes seems just right.

  66. Mike B says:

6 minute videos per pedal/review/post would be ideal! Happy Holidays!

  67. Adam says:

I gotta agree w/ Kelly. I say C. The longer the vid the more u have to go on being a consumer. Gear’s not cheap, and just like most musicians we’re not rich.

  68. Chumbly says:

6 minutes is good but sometimes 10 is better if the effect has multiple areas to cover such as a Rainbow Machine or a DL4.

  69. Henfield says:

I hate to admit that I have a short attention span, as I am over 40, but I would prefer A) 3 minute videos, hitting thr highlights of the sounds and controls. Thank you for the giveaways this holiday season!

  70. Pat says:

    6 min is great.

  71. Twan says:

    C) 10 minutes. Please!

  72. Shep says:

3 minute videos. Ones that need more time should be split, like multi purpose pedals can have one short video per feature. Bite size chunks!

  73. I vote for 6 minutes. Just enough to hear your ideas and try them out!

  74. Joshua says:

6 minutes is the perfect time to get the message across!

  75. Deniz says:

not too long, not too short… 6 minutes

  76. Roberto says:

I think 6 mn is great.

  77. Justin says:

6 min is a good time.

  78. Anonymous says:

i think variety is the spice of life. i’d like to see shorter introductory videos (3 minutes) and longer videos (10 minutes) that go into more depth for those who are really interested.

  79. Bald Steve says:

I’d love the whole ten every video – Juan and the peeps who come on here always give such detailed reviews and info, I say the more time we get with them the better. Plus, the back and forth is great. Keep up the great work.

  80. Mike C says:

    6 minutes should be perfect!

  81. Ponte says:

    B) 6 minutes. just enough.

  82. Bozz says:

    HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

  83. Max says:

Instead of posting videos of a predetermined length, you should rig your home/studio with webcams and constantly stream live video feed to pedals and effects.com This way we can see a fretlessbass player in his natural habitat and study his ways/diet/amp settings.

  84. Federico says:

    C) 10 mins or more if it’s worth

  85. Jess says:

I think 6 is probably the best. Lots of info but still concise.

  86. Nick Bowman says:

The sound of this rig is incredible. I love it!

  87. Bozz says:

    B) is the correct answer… not to short, not too long!

  88. Todd says:

I like the added detail you can get from 10 minute videos. It lets you explore the abilities a little bit more in depth and showcase some various types of playing that can make use of the pedals and effects. Make the videos 10 minutes long and have the first 6 minutes cover the nitty-gritty of the information for those that want the medium size video, and use the last 4 to expand on things and play out a bit as a happy compromise!

  89. Mike P says:

There will always be room for quick videos and long videos, but i think the 6 minute variety is just in that Goldilocks range where you can fit in enough Introduction, Explanation, Demonstration, Experimentation, Jubilation, and Raider Nation that is juuuuuuuuuuust right. The 6 minute range for the most part gives you enough time to comfortably hit all the main points you want to hit without going over board. If you have something like Fuzz Wars with two people and a discussion in there, then maybe more time is better for that.

  90. Joe Cartwright says:

6 minutes sounds about right, enough time to get a feel for a pedal and see if you want to try it out yourself.

  91. Nick Bowman says:

As for the video length..the longer the better. I say 10 minutes so we can see nearly everything the rig/pedal is capable of.

  92. Travis says:

I wouldn’t put any limit on the video length. Not all video topics will fit into the mold of a three, six or ten minute video. Just let the content go on for as long as needed to get the point across.

  93. Bert says:

Great way to end the 12 days!

  94. mike says:

I think that 10 minutes are perfect. I love these videos!

  95. Josh says:

6 minutes is fine for most videos

  96. Al S. says:

10 min. is good not to much.
    Merry Christmas!!

  97. Aron says:

I was thinking 6 minutes, but those 4 don’t matter anyway, so my answer is C, 10 minutes

  98. Feliz Navidad Juan, quiero ganar algo!!!

  99. C!C!C!C!C!C!C!C!C!C!C!C!

  100. Nate B says:

I personally like the 6 minute range. That gives time so you’re not rushing without also trying to come up with fluff for a video.

  101. Aaron says:

6 minutes seems like a good time, but i suppose it depends on what the details are.

  102. Anonymous says:

6 minute is perfect. not too short to go in-depht and not too long .

  103. Jack says:

I reckon 6 minutes would be ideal, long enough to get in some quality info and playing but not so long as to scare people off! Merry Christmas!

  104. Byron says:

    10…Merry Christmas!

  105. PSIC0BASS says:

OH MEN ITS TE PERFECT COMBO TO PLAY LIVE IN EVERYPLACE YOU GONNA PLAY I WANT THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  106. MAURO Catellnani says:

6 minute is perfect. not too short to go in-depht and not too long .

  107. The_Geff says:

Six minutes. And some videos on reverbs…

  108. Marc Hildenberger says:

    10 minutes! Merry Christmas Juan!

  109. PSIC0BASS says:

10 MINUTES OR MORE THIS VIDEO OF THE RIG RUNDOWN OF JUAN ITS VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  110. Adrian G says:

C.10 minutes. I think its a good time span to get to show everything that you are trying to get through about the pedal and the functions of it!

  111. Roman says:

Depends on the subject IMHO. There are things that you can showcase in 3 minutes, others may have so many features and tricks that 10 minutes is hardly enough.

  112. Roman says:

I think 6 minutes is the best choice.

  113. Daniel says:

    C) 10 minutes. But actually, it depends on what you’re about to show.

  114. Danny says:

Awesome prize. I’ve been planning to buy a bass (never played before)

  115. Danny says:

For your videos, the longer the better. 10 min is certainly not too much.

  116. Serdar says:

    10 minutes is good,

  117. Khalyle says:

Holy mess, I finally played one of these after watching your video. I LOVED IT. I’m playing out of a really old 60 watt amp, and it cuts out and can’t even play nicely at it’s own high volume. Playing the PF 500 was just like…. magic. Fingers crossed I’m the lucky one!

  118. Zee says:

    C) 10 minutes at least!! i love those long videos about gear!

  119. Lakai says:

6 minutes, and some more videos of your other basses as well please :-) Merry X-mas.

  120. Anonymous says:

10 minutes! Thank you so much Juan! Merry Christmas!

  121. ezra says:

3 minutes. I start to wander after that

  122. Chris Duncan says:

I like 10 minutes. It gives time to really show whatever the features are. Plus its really helpful when you give examples of how you use them.

  123. Ace says:

    B) Most videos shouldn’t need to be longer than about six minutes each. Thanks for all the great vids, Juan!

  124. Fredrik Gösta says:

    B) 6 minutes would be nice for a not too complicated pedal, to try different settings and perhaps different basses. 10 minutes could be nice for a trickier pedal like that moogerfooger ring mod. :)

  125. jano says:

    6 minutos. Gracias Juan!!!!!!!

  126. Brooks says:

Three minutes. Short, sweet, and to the point.

  127. Matt says:

10 min.. Really like having the time spent on digging in to the effect and the different subtleties.

  128. Mike P says:

On a side note… I know it is a little more work for you to shoot and edit, but i think your work would be enhanced if you had a live 2nd angle close up on the pedal or effect that you could cut in when you are explaining or demonstrating its function. Maybe you could get Zoom, GoPro, or another brand to throw in that camera if you endorse them :) Also, even though its difficult to tame the levels and integrity of sound out of a bass cabinet without a dedicated sound guy, see if you could get one mic for you, and one mic dedicated to the out put of the cabinet.

Thanks for all you do Juan!

  129. Piero says:

    C) 10 mins and more, happy Xmass Juan!

  130. Bartelby says:

6 minutes is about right. 3 is too short and 10 is way too long!
    Merry Christmas!!

  131. Anonymous says:

6 minutes seems about right, although some pedals might need extra time

  132. William Hoffman says:

    B) 6 minutes
The videos can be split where 3 minutes are spent describing the pedals, and the other 3 can be overall playing (those 3 minutes do not have to be consecutive, they can be spread out throughout the video).

  133. Bill Bodily says:

6 Minutes is a good length. Not too short and not too long. Not all pedals are created equal with options, so trying to cover the range of options in a loaded pedal might take a bit longer. Thanks for videos and giveaway! Merry Christmas everyone!

  134. Ryan Pedersen says:

    Pedals – 3 minutes
Amps or Basses – 6 minutes

  135. Adrian says:

My Gf will be in in heaven xD

  136. I think 6 minutes its a really good time to make a video about a pedal or a good review but if the product need apre focused review you can have the 10 minutes one, its all about hearing the great tones you got out of the gear.

  137. Fab Yeins says:

    Cool!

  138. Matthew says:

I’m really hoping for this one :)

  139. Adrian says:

C 10 minutes of pure awensomnes

  140. J says:

Thanks for such a great site, Juan. This is a much needed and very valuable resource!

6 minutes seems ideal, but 10 would be fine. Also, I’m not one to complain about great videos that are absolutely free, but since the door is open for feedback: I’d rather hear a little more playing (and see the settings on pedals for different examples). More playing and examples of sounds with different settings would make shorter videos pack more of a punch.

  141. abralingo says:

On average, I’d say six minutes, however some gear should be allotted more time to cover absolutely everything, because people like me love to know every feature, effect, and sound that’s produced when it comes to music gear. Happy holidays!

  142. atte says:

    B) six minutes!

  143. Juan Ignacio Ibarra says:

Think 6 min is a good time to apreciate a nice review of the gear. Not any less than that…

  144. KD Audio says:

Thank you Juan for being so generous to your fans and being a true example of the Christmas spirit. All I want for Christmas is to see The Mars Volta play Noctourniquet live in its entirety in/or around my home town. Good luck to the winners, and use your gifts wisely.

  145. Rodo says:

10 min, the more, the better!!!

  146. Adam z Segal says:

10 minutes, go through every little nook and cranny of each pedal! I want details!

  147. Andreas Brinke says:

i prefer C) 10 minutes. merry christmas everyone!

  148. Chad says:

The pf series is the most versatile and best sounding for the price. Pick me! Haha

  149. KD Audio says:

I say the length of the videos should depend on the pedal. Each one is different and therefore will take a different amount of time to describe. I dig the long and the short videos!

  150. Beltrán says:

    10 Minutes!

  151. Chad says:

Oh and I meant 6 minutes for vid length.

  152. Michele says:

The more the better! 10 minutes!

  153. Felipe Perez says:

    Merry Christmas

  154. Ken says:

    Saved the best for last!

  155. Vicky says:

Don’t mind, the videos so far have been very well put together and interesting, I’ve especially enjoyed the Fuzz wars!! 10 minutes is ideal. Thanks Juan

  156. Rene says:

    C) Ten minutes. You’re one of the few people who can pull off a ten minute video and have people watch the whole thing. Thanks for doing any video at any length.

  157. Nick Gohl says:

I think six minutes is a good length… its also cool when you show how the pedal freaks out!!

  158. Jay Yaws says:

Depends on what the video is showcasing, but 6 minutes should adequately cover most things.

  159. Felipe Perez says:

I prefer six minutes or less,

  160. Alex Bayer says:

Tricky Question ;-) …. First of all my answer is C) 10 minutes

But 10 min videos can get boring….but NOT with Juan…the more Pedals&Effects, the better: So for me: 10 minute videos, because they really showcase the depth of what you can do with the pedal.

  161. bertram says:

6 is the time I would the most easily watch when just surfing…

thank you for the music, the blog and the giveaways, and happy holidays!

  162. Marcel says:

10 minutes…at least! Enjoyed the fuzz wars a lot

  163. MillerW says:

A week and a half of “Pick Me! Pick me!” Situations, I can dig it.

  164. kevin says:

merry christmas to allllllllll!!! from canada

  165. troy Blackmore says:

3 minute videos.. get to the good stuff right away!

  166. Jason D. Rodriguez says:

6 Minutes seems to be a Happy Medium, though I enjoy the videos no matter what the length.

A “Short Attention Span” is not a problem here…

Thank You for the opportunity to win such a classy rig, I’m am eagerly awaiting the results :)

  167. John Heatley says:

Merry Christmas Juan! I would love videos to be 10 mins long but I don’t really mind!

  168. Skutyn says:

    B) 6 minutes

  169. MillerW says:

Generally speaking, the more the better, but for more specific questions, 3 minutes is nice and to the point.

  170. Brandon says:

if you could make a crap load of 3 minute videos… like one everyday, that would be so awesome! but no matter how often you upload and how long the videos are ill watch all of them anyways!

  171. Jozef Gal says:

10 minutes, or as long as you need to :-) like your videos very much! :-)

  172. Tom says:

    10 minutes with different instruments

  173. 10 minutes is the best time to explain everything! :D

  174. Derek says:

Anywhere between 6 and 10 would be perfect!

  175. Absolutely 10 minutes. Man never can have enough of pedalsandeffects.com

  176. Chris says:

    10 glorious minutes.

  177. John Niespodzianski says:

    B) 6

  178. Seth says:

    I’ll take this.

  179. Seth says:

    3 minutea.

  180. Doug Child says:

We’re out in the sticks on satellite internet, so things move a little slowly here…..so shorter videos are better!
Merry Christmas, Juan! Thanks for your fun giveaways this month….that Ampeg bass amp would be a nice replacement for my old Ampeg BA-115!

  181. David Renteria says:

I think 10 minutes is great because it feels like you guys are actually exploring the pedals. The more sounds the merrier!

  182. Citizenbass says:

I really think 6 would perfect because then you could thoroughly discuss the pedals and yet keep the video in a good time frame for people on a schedule.

  183. Casey Gerken says:

3-6 minutes is a perfect length for informing the viewer, while keeping their attention.

  184. David says:

10 minutes. The more info/sounds the better!

  185. 10 minute videos for me!!

  186. glenn simons says:

    6 minutes would be ideal.
But that ampeg would be great!!
    Merry christmas

  187. Mark_Jesin says:

    C) 10 minutes!

  188. Ian McNee says:

I like the idea of 6 minutes. Perfect amount of time to dial in the different things the pedals do and thoroughly explain it.

  189. Shugare says:

I agree Juan Ampeg is the best. I had one of the old “refrigerators” in the 80′s doing classic rock. I also had a vintage Spector ns-2. No effects straight up I got any sound I wanted.

  190. robbie says:

    10 mins works for me.

  191. Bernardo says:

10 minutes would be awesome! 6 would be nice too ^^. saludos desde Guadajara, Juan!

  192. Brian says:

Six minutes sounds like it would be best. This is a most fantastical website.

  193. Burgermon says:

Hard to say really, some pedals would benefit from longer demos and explanations than others, 6minutes average seems about right but then 10minute videos would be great also, 3 is a bit short unless it was very specific to playing situation. Merry Christmas, great give away!!

  194. Marfz says:

    Please Santa.

  195. Lawrence Ponce says:

I have a short attention span so I would go with the 3 minute unless it was something really cool.

  196. shilo says:

    10 minutes

  197. Dex says:

    6 minutes is optimal

  198. ALBERTO SANTOS says:

10 MINUTES !!! Y TE DESEO UNA FELIZ NAVIDAD JUAN!!!

  199. Michael says:

10 minutes. Or as long as necessary.

  200. Raymond Brown says:

Heey! 10 minute vids would be awesome, the more the better… And maybe you could do the demos with both bass and guitar! Happy New Year!!!

  201. Dreyke says:

10 minutes sounds good, like some others are saying it gives a good amount of time to talk and demo.

  202. Andreas says:

6 minutes, that way you can properly go through whatever you’re presenting without missing any features or cutting it too short.

  203. Tiago Cardoso says:

I think 6 minutes is a good compromise.

  204. Jake Ingalls says:

    Merry Christmas!

  205. Javier says:

    B) 6 minutes

  206. Jimmy Knowles says:

Well hot diggity and holy guacamole! This is truly a blessing to whomever the lucky soul to take home this one home is. Good luck to all and a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!! :)

  207. Joel says:

I Think 6 minutes would be perfect. Not too long but not too short either!

  208. 10 minutes or more, why not?

  209. Willstone says:

I would have sex with this amp.

  210. Benjamin says:

6 minutes that’s just enough time.

  211. I would say A) 3 minutes but I know there are some things that cannot be explained well in 3 minutes. I will say make the videos as long as they need to be. :-)

  212. NT says:

    C) 10 minutes. The longer, the better!

  213. Willstone says:

    DEFINITELY TEN MINUTES!

  214. Jan says:

B: 6 minutes. Its often enough to get a good impression on a piece of gear. Not to long not to short. Of-course this also depends on the piece of gear, some are more straight forward than others and so some might need longer/shorter movies to explain.

  215. Oscar says:

I think 6 minutes gives enough time to get the point across but not long enough to where its too much information to take in. 3 minutes I feel its not enough time to give the pedal sounds a feel.

  216. John Mitchell says:

    B) 6. Just long enough to get more sounds and detail without it getting too outrageous.

  217. Adam says:

    6 minutes are ok, cheers

  218. Pietro Henrique says:

6 minutes, although some pedals require more time to show all their effects and tonal possibilities. I think most everyone that likes this site won’t care about seeing a 10 or 15 minute video if the equipment reviewed requires so.
    Thanks, Juan, for the giveaway!
Happy New Year and keep up with this awesome website!
    Greetings from a Brazilian fan!

  219. Ronnie says:

10 minute videos are great for introducing new products. But I prefer 3 minute videos for single product demos, maybe 6 minutes for comparing similar items, with less talking and/or explanation for the latter two.

  220. Martin P says:

    Ten minutes for detailed information.

  221. Jorge Moura says:

When the information is with quality, the longer the better. So, I vote in 10 minutes. But if smaller videos allows more videos, can be 6 minutes.

  222. Cody Budd says:

    C) 10 minutes plus, for greater detail of stuff it can do.

  223. bram says:

    c) 10 min! The more in-depth the better!

  224. Andrea says:

6 minutes sounds ok for me. Great job Juan!

  225. Samuelharris says:

3 minutes so more videos can be made.

  226. Huno says:

Well 3 Minutes if it’s a “micro” type of pedal *like the malekko’s microns” and I think I’ll jump to 10 if the pedal is too complex. Yet!
I think 10 will be better so you can cover the pedal and setups.

  227. Jose says:

10 minute videos are the best. I like to have through videos about effects that way it helps me decide I’d it is usable in my rig.

  228. denny says:

10 min for sure or more !!!

  229. bassteamer says:

Six minutes is perfect for those with a short attention span, like me, and still be able to learn something.

  230. Mark Walker says:

6, but I have the attention span of a hamster

  231. Jason says:

If the playing is interesting I don’t mind a ten minute demo. Merry Christmas everyone!

  232. John Volianitis says:

I think six minutes is fine.

  233. Alex LaRocca says:

10 minutes so we can get more learning time in!

  234. Sam says:

Man, I dig the longer videos when you get into the details of the pedals and just jam out on them. Some of the best demos are when you get super stoked about a pedal.. then I know it’s going to be awesome!

I so say c) 10 minutes, but really make them as long as you’re compelled to make them.. the longer they are == the more you are into them, which says something about the music you play and the kinda stuff that will influence us ( the viewers / fans ).

    Have a merry christmas dude!

  235. DaveB says:

I like the 6 min vids in general.

  236. Iiro Virtanen says:

    B) 6 minutes

    Happy Holidays to everyone!

  237. Hovig Sarkissian says:

Happy holidays Juan!! And i think they should be between 6-10 minutes

  238. Daniel salamanca says:

Man 10 minutes would be great! Greetings from mexico

  239. Vince says:

The SVT series are my favorite bass amps off all time, hands down.

  240. Jason Grasso says:

I’d like the videos to be 6-10 minutes long because I like videos that convey a good amount of info in a decently short amount of time. Sometimes I don’t have more than 10 minutes to sit down and watch a video. Thank you so much Juan for doing the 12 days of pedals and effects, you are the best!!!

  241. Jonathan says:

10 minutes! THE MORE JUAN THE BETTER!

  242. simon says:

    A) 3 minutes

  243. Gregory Bodish says:

    great rig !!

  244. Scott says:

    B) Six Minutes

    Happy Holidays!

  245. Vince says:

6 minutes is the perfect demo length.

  246. Gregory Bodish says:

    3 minutes

  247. john patterson says:

    3 minutes, specific aspect

  248. Steve says:

Depends on the pedal(s) involved. For most 3 or 6 might do- But for Large, or Pedals with a lot of range and possibilities, 10 might be needed to fully cover How this great, new-fangled piece of equipment would change our lives. I really appreciate in-depth coverage of pedals with a lot of knobs and functions- Especially when they actually make a difference in your Sound! Merry Christmas, Thanks for a chance to win this, and Good Luck to everybody!

  249. Sean Booth says:

Happy Holidays! Thanks For The Opportunities This Season! Cheers

  250. Jerry Botts says:

I think b) 6 minutes. Ideally it should be 3-6 depending on the subject. but that wasn’t one of the choices.

  251. Mike says:

I don’t think the length matters so much. Keep ‘em commin’!

  252. Jeroen says:

    10 minutes!

  253. Jeff says:

Six minutes is a nice length. Just long enough to demonstrate features without wasting a boat load of time.

  254. Scott says:

six minutes seems perfect, so B. Happy holidays!

  255. Steven says:

    6 minutes…..
    Happy Holidays!

  256. Smo says:

    C) 10 mins

The thing that got me into the site was the fuzz wars videos with you and John! Watching you guys go through all the different pedals and saying how you use em and seeing how the effects compare with one another is a lot more helpful than seeing some dude’s foot. The ten minutes works great for the comparison videos, might be a bit long for one pedal, but even so you can get so deep into these things and keep hitting new tones and weird noises which is rad. I found some videos of you guys jamming on dwarfcraft pedals and talking to Aen too. That was awesome, it’s rare you see someone doing pedal reviews that actually interviews the pedal maker. Really puts stuff into perspective hearing why these guys made their various effects.

Thanks for doing what you do man it’s awesome!! Party on and Merry Christmas!

  257. Augusto Sanchez says:

I think 6 minutes is a good length for me personally.

Happy Holidays Juan, from one chicano to another! haha

  258. BJ says:

    Six minutes. Perfect length.

  259. Hubert Jabłoński says:

It was a great adventure this giveaway, it was really generous of you to do that. Thanks, maybe I’ll get lucky on the last one.

  260. Jason says:

I think videos should be 6-10 minutes. but i also think it depends on the content. For example the rig rundown video posted above needed to be much longer. Anyways, happy holidays everyone!!

  261. Val' says:

    6 minutes seems goof

  262. Mark Damon says:

Three is generally a good overview for most pedals I would think but some require more in-depth videos…use your best judgement dude. We really don’t mind watching you play as much as you like to!

  263. jules mcnubbin says:

    B) 6 minutes is a good length

  264. William says:

    6 minutes.

  265. Jeremy says:

I think all 3 lengths of time work. It really depends on product/topic.

  266. Chris says:

I would say 10 minutes for pedals that have lots of variables and knobs. I prefer to hear something very in depth, based on different playing styles (pick, slap, finger style ). If it is a basic pedal,or effect, like a compressor or something 6 minutes is good. It is often hard to find goo, in depth reviews on gears, and I am a research wh0re! Thank you so much Juan! Merry Christmas to all!

  267. Luis Felipe Sanchez says:

6 minutes, Pretty well explained but not in a long time. Merry Christmas!!

  268. Jocke Nilsson Hellsing says:

A,B or C it dosen´t matter, as long as you get your point across

Btw Love the website really cool & fun to watch/read

  269. sterfigno says:

Cheers for everything Juan and merry pedals and effects!!!

  270. Knurk says:

Depends on what kind of video it is, but usualy i end up wanting more. I guess i’ll say 10 minutes but preferably more:)

  271. I think 6 minutes is a fair time. Not too short but not too long. Ample amount of time to test the basics of any pedals or stompboxes

  272. Jason G says:

I’m good with a video anywhere between 6 or 10 minutes in length. I hope I win this amp sooo bad!! I have no bass amp right now because mine died on me a while back and I really want the new portaflex. I have an old school portaflex b15N head that I’m trying to fix up a little, it would be cool to have a brand new amp for a change tho, not have to do any work

  273. Patrick says:

I think 6 minutes is perfect for most videos. However, if a pedal is more complicated, like the micro synth, or if you’re having a shoot out, 10 minutes is probabalu better.

    Merry Christmas Juan!

  274. Ian Booth says:

haha depends on how into a pedal you are getting Juan. 6 or 10 minutes is always sweet though as its good to get a proper idea of it.

  275. Thomas Riley says:

As far as the length of videos, it depends on content. If the demo is informative it will keep my attention for as long as it takes. I love learning new things. I truly enjoyed having the chance to participate in the contest and look forward to more in the future. To you, Juan, and all that follow this blog I want to extend a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Good Luck everyone!!!

  276. Corbin says:

10 minutes! If it’s something I’m interested in, I want to hear it as long as possible to get a good idea of what it sounds like.

  277. Cory Tanner says:

6 minutes, if there are many features 10 minutes would be justified.

  278. artur says:

A or B, depending on the complexity of the subject.

    Merry Christmbass!

  279. Rob Forman says:

Can a Jew win a bass amp on Christmas? Let’s hope!

  280. 6 minutes. I like talking, though others might not. But I think its important to hear your point of view and opinion of the pedal. I like detail. 6 minutes can have a balance of playing and talking.

  281. Tyler Corey says:

I vote for 10 minutes in which you cover a group of pedals, like in the Fuzz Wars installments. Getting to hear a comparison of similar effects in the same video is very useful (and fun!).

  282. aleksander filipiak says:

Honestly, as long as they need to be, for your everyday review or topic 6 minutes is normally enough, however an amp review or more in depth topic may require more explanation, so a longer video may be more suiting.

  283. Steve says:

6 minutes, unless you are doing things like the fuzz off where you are showing 3-4 pedals at once

  284. Luis Etscheid says:

    B) 6 minutes. More, shorter videos = more views, ad revenue, and more concise categorization of subject points.

  285. Dennis Perez says:

I would like it to be 10 minutes. 3 minutes on introducing yourself, the gear being used, and how it applies to you. 7 minutes on playing the gear. Thank you for the giveaway Juan! I really appreciate what you have done here with the website and may you and your family have a successful new year.

  286. Justin Fox says:

6-10 minutes. It really depends what kind of information you’re trying to relay over to us. I couldn’t imagine that 3 minutes would be very ideal for any vlog post.

  287. Lloyd Griffiths says:

C): 10mins, the longer the better!!!

  288. karol says:

    c) 10 minutes

  289. Greg says:

    10 minutes would be fine!

  290. Matt Washam says:

6 minutes is perfect for most pedals, but 10 minutes if it is something more complex…it has been so cool of you to do these giveaways, tons of incredible gear!, thanks Juan and merry christmas!!!!:)

  291. eric says:

    6 mins!

  292. sean says:

    10 minutes . C

  293. This would be perfect for my daughter. I got her an EB3

  294. Curtis says:

    6 minutes.

  295. Candy Adams says:

I like the idea of 6 minute videos. There is nothing wrong with longer ones though, except we live out in the country and have a satellite internet connection so we have trouble with the longer videos sometimes. Today’s giveaway tops them all. Good luck everyone!

  296. Darryl flewersd says:

    C) ten minutes ! Who does not have ten minutes to spare?

  297. Bradica says:

This contest was an awesome idea, thanks Juan and happy holidays everyone!

  298. Jessica C says:

I think 6 min is good, 3 is too short and 10 is too long.

  299. Bradica says:

    and I choose A B C, I can easily sit through a 10 minute video if it’s something interesting

  300. Marc says:

10 minutes long of just only effects and pedals and no discussing them. the best way to learn is to express and if you just 10 minuted some pedals id be happy. much love.

  301. Max says:

    10 Minutes! Happy Holidays! woohoo

  302. Jon says:

6 minutes is just long enough for me

  303. Kyle says:

more in depth the better! c) 10 !

  304. Adam says:

10 minutes. I like in depth reviews showing all the features of stuff.

  305. Kenneth B says:

    B. 6 minutes

  306. Grant says:

    B, 6 minutes

  307. Rick says:

I agree with 6 minutes if it’s a single topic., and 10 if it’s more complex. 3 would be okay as an introductory video you’re site or a message to your fans. :-)

  308. Anthony wright says:

6 minutes!! Good length, not too short

  309. upyourbass says:

10 minutes is a okay with me. In depth explanations and loads of play/demo time is right up my alley.

  310. Dom V says:

I would like the videos to be c) 10 mins long. I really enjoyed watching the full videos of the fuzz wars, and felt I learned a lot more in the longer videos. Speed is not a factor, but information and knowledge are.

  311. Erick Arias says:

Merry Christmas Juan, id say 6 minutes would be perfect! Love from Chicago!

  312. Jennifer P says:

Up to b) 6 minutes. Not too long where you stop paying attention; but not too short where you don’t get anything from it. Hope you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  313. zoidy_old_pal says:

    B) 6 minutes is a good length for most videos, I believe. Some videos should definitely be longer depending on how much content is being presented. I don’t think its a big sin to have a long-winded video or “too much playing and tweaking” (if that’s ever been a real complaint).

  314. Ricardo Kim says:

    El poder!

  315. blaine davis says:

    I say, the more informal

  316. Davis says:

    6 minutes ese

  317. Efe says:

ganas esto y es la mejor navidad del mundo

  318. Stephen D says:

    B) 6 Minutes is probably the sweet spot.

  319. Efe says:

    10 minutes

  320. Ricardo Kim says:

    el poder!
    C >> perfect complete lenth!

  321. Keith says:

I think it depends upon the video. 6 minutes is probably ideal, but might be too long for some pedals and too short for others.

  322. blaine davis says:

I say, the more informative the better. if it takes ten minutes to fully demonstrate a product, take it. id rather watch you push the limits of each product and put your own personal touch on it!

  323. Georgie Villaseca says:

6 mins!!! not to short not too long either. hope I get a great present. merry christmas!!

  324. el says:

We need more info! C) 10 MINUTES

  325. el_ohso says:

WE NEED MORE INFO!!! C) 10 MINUTES FOR SHURE

  326. Dale Tappin says:

Ten minutes, or at least 6. That gives time to go over some features, explain how different functions work and give an example. Not that I have any problems with the videos thus far!

  327. MSXNoise says:

With fear of sounding greedy; Ten minutes (I wouldn’t mind if you went into overtime though ;o)

  328. Howard Gabriel says:

Six minutes is just long enough unless really need ten minutes to do a full demo of all the noticeable changes in the pedals

  329. Mario Padron says:

10 minute episodes. Plenty of time for gear talk, demo, and to make it a feature instead of a 3min pedal review.

    Merry Christmas!
    Mario

  330. Carl Redwood says:

    Ampeg Rule!

  331. TheCapn says:

    You theman Juan.

  332. renato says:

    10 minutes!

  333. TheCapn says:

You need more ten minute videos!

  334. Glenn says:

    B) 6 minutes!

  335. Maik Corral says:

3 minutes with a simple pedal and 6 minutes maximum with a complex pedal, but 10 minutes its a long time! I like the videos of gear where i can hear the variety of sounds of the product instead of hearing things about the box,the manual, the pedal color, the led…LOL

  336. Mitch Mucino says:

    Killer! Happy Christmas sound lovers!

  337. Gregor says:

around 6 minutes would be fine, i guess

  338. Anonymous says:

I think it all depends on what the pedal you’re demoing is! If it’s a fairly basic one, do it in 3 but if there’s a lot of features to it, take as long as you need!

  339. Justin says:

6 mins for sure. You don’t have to go through every setting but just show a few sounds you can get out of whatever you’re reviewing.

  340. Anca says:

    B) 6 minutes

  341. Jamie says:

I love your site! If it wasn’t for these contests I wouldn’t have heard about it, so nice job.

  342. Jamie says:

Anywhere between 6 and 10. Depends on how many things you’re showing off.

  343. Dimi Rangel says:

    B) 6 minutes

  344. Annie says:

Six minutes! Three isn’t enough, ten is too long….

  345. ttownscott says:

    Merry Christmas!
Love watching video demos of gear. Make it long enough to put it through it’s paces.

  346. Max says:

I say it really depends on the content of the video.

But on average I’d say 6 minutes.

    thank you

  347. Lee Boyce says:

    B) 6 minutes.

There is really only so much you can say about each pedal before they start to ‘sound the same’ in terms of description. The real proof is in the sounds. 6 minutes is a good amount of time to introduce a pedal or chain and blast out some sounds. I wouldn’t complain if they went over 6 minutes though, i’m hooked!

  348. Justin S says:

10 min videos would be nice. The more information from you the better off we are so we can learn from you Mr. Alderete! Merry Christmas to you and can’t wait to hear your bass playing on Cedric’s new album!

  349. Wesley Krafft says:

    B. 6 Minutes.

It’s the happy medium. Merry Christmas!

  350. slapeur says:

    C) 10minutes

  351. Joe Bush says:

10 minutes is a great length, as it allows you to really get into the different possibilities of whatever you’re demoing. 6 minutes is ok for a quick overview. Anything less than 6 is just a tease. ;-)

  352. tonyisnt says:

    C) 10 minute videos for thorough explanation and considerable amount of demoing.
Thanks again for all the opportunities and stuff you have shared with us, Juan. Feliz Navidad y que tengas un buen año a ti y a todo tu familia!

  353. Eric Stucky says:

Oh the things I could do with this amp…….it would look really nice next to my 67′ B-15!

  354. Larza says:

It depends. For some gear three minutes is absolutely not enough. So I’d say B) 6 minutes. Its really cool to see how the pedals word and how to get so many different kind of sounds out of it. And the best thing: gear is tested and played by mr. Juan Alderete!

  355. Guillem says:

    A) Three minutes

Because we are the patience-less generation!!!

  356. Victor Aguilar says:

if they could be 10 mins long ill be happy with that : )

  357. fabian says:

6 minutes is the perfect time to learn!

  358. Orlando Mejia says:

    B. 6 seems like a good set time

  359. Randy says:

Merrrrrrrryyyyy Chrissssssssstmassssssss!!! ….to Juan and everybody !!!!!!

  360. Zac says:

Ten minute videos are where it’s at… Also a baller on budget rig run down would be tight.

  361. Randy says:

The videos, for me, since my internet access isn’t so great, would be best at 3 minutes. Merry Christmas!

  362. Kawehi says:

    C) TEN MINUTES!

  363. Zef says:

6 minutes would be just fine!

  364. antal says:

    b) six minutes

  365. Tarja says:

    10 minutes

  366. Kai says:

I would like the movies to be as long as it is needed to show the pedals. I think 10 minutes is a bit long, but 6 minutes is not very long if pedals are interesting enough. Merry Christmas!

  367. Spencer says:

I say the longer the better, so C!

  368. Carlos Banda says:

It depends on what the video is about. If your reviewing a simplepedal, then three to six minutes is good. Just focusing on its specs and sounds for a short time. Sweet and short. Now if it’s something more complicated like multi-effects or an amp, then six or more minutes would be nice just so most viewers can get the most out if it, just in case it’s he lping them decide on a piece of gear to buy. Thanks for everything, Juan! As a Mexican myself, I’m proud to know one of my bassists is one too, and proud if it.

  369. Gavin says:

Love it! 30 sec of “What’s going on” then 6 min instruction( with slow down)
    Merry Christmas everyone.

  370. Jesús says:

How long would you like the videos on PedalsAndEffects to be? A) 3 minutes B) 6 minutes C) 10 minutes

    Short answer: b) 6 minutes.

But it all depends on the content. Some pedals I’m sure Juan can show us what to do with them for way longer than 6 minutes and i’d love to learn about them more from him.

  371. John Manzano says:

I would like to see pedals and effects videos to be 6min. So that we can have a chance to see more.

As a Mexican myself, I’m proud to know one of my favorite bassists is one too, and proud if it. Keep rocking it hard

  373. Afonso Nunes says:

    B) 6 minutes

  374. Federico Uy says:

Definitely not 3! 6 or10 are ok, but 3 is too little time.

  375. Maic says:

10 min it’s great, merry xmas for everyone!!

  376. Jame says:

    3 minutes.

  377. Luis says:

Six minutes would be nice but it really just comes down to the quality of the demo and the run through of the pedal.

  378. Luis Garcia says:

    6 minutes

  379. Todd says:

    3 minutes

  380. Jason says:

10 minutes!!! The more info, the better!

  381. Matt Hanson-Weller says:

    10 minutes.
    Have an awesome holiday!

  382. Daryl says:

    C) 10 minutes

The more playing and info available the better!

    Happy Christmas x

  383. Shawn Downer says:

    Merry Christmas to everyone….

  384. Michael bosch says:

B-C depending on how many features.

  385. David Kamayor says:

As long as they need to be.

  386. eric says:

    6 minutes!

  387. Alan says:

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  388. J Baker says:

Merry Christmas all! Good luck to everyone :)

  389. J Baker says:

I vote for A! Short and concise.

  390. Alan says:

    B: 6 Minutes seems perfect!

  391. Evan Marshall says:

The Ampeg set looks pretty sweet. Always liked how they sound.

  392. sidewalkfins says:

    C) 10 minutes
fit in as much music and instruction as possible.

  393. robot says:

10 minutes dude if the gear has enough features. I’ll take as much content as I can get

  394. Drew says:

10 minutes! There’s always some feature or useful setting that gets looked over when you don’t spend a good amount quality time demoing the product.

  395. Evan Marshall says:

I think that videos are decent at C) 10 minutes. You get some good examples of the pedals and such that you are demoing. 6 minutes is probably fine too…but 3 minutes isn’t enough information.

  396. Evan Chandler says:

6 minutes is good, I usually lose in a video if it’s longer than that.

  397. jhn says:

    6 minutes!

  398. Luis Sidd says:

10 minutes, the more the better!

  399. Fco Javier Saborido says:

    B) 6 minutes, i think is the perfect length for reviews

  400. Peter says:

    Six minutes will be good.

  401. Caitófanes says:

    B) 6 Minutes

  402. phill says:

    B. 6 minutes

  403. trotters says:

we wish you a merry christmas

  404. Geoffrey says:

    B. 6 minutes.

  405. lewis says:

    b) 6 mins and merry xmas

  406. James says:

how long do a dog’s legs need to be? just enough to reach the ground! 3 minutes or 15 minutes, all are good!

  407. Jack says:

6 minutes would be the best. Perfect amount of time to deliver information, and still keep it entertaining.

  408. Jeremiah says:

Happy Holidays, and thanks for the awesome contest.

  409. Alexis says:

If possible C) 10 minutes, but there are pedals that can be fully explaines and demonstrated in less and i would still apreciate shorter demos when done properly.

  410. Ethan J. Butman says:

    3 minutes is too short.
    6 minutes is a series.
    10 minutes is ok.
    You should make yours
go up to 11 to be more awesomer.
    Happy Holidays G.A.S.ers!!

  411. Maros says:

    6 minutes :)

  412. Kyle James Baker says:

Definitely 10 minutes. I want to get as much info as possible on gear.

  413. Indrek Talpsep says:

    6 minutes

  414. I think it depends on the nature of the pedal. pedals with modeling like DL4 or the TC Electronics Flashback x4 should be longer to go through every setting thoroughly, whereas something like a fuzz box could be 3 three minutes, and pedals with multiple settings like Pigtronix Mothership could be 6 minutes to explain each vco.

  415. Baphomistaberinkula says:

10 minutes (or 6 if 10 minutes videos are really bothering…) because i want the theory and the practice of each pedal and effect that is shown here.

  416. Matt Chapman says:

    C. 10 Minutes; longer the better, time to explore more tones, see how it interacts with other pedals etc

  417. Eric Cox says:

6 minutes. This is long enough to provide detail where it is necessary and short enough that most people will watch from start to finish.

  418. adolfo says:

    awesome amp

  419. adolfo says:

    6 minutes is better

  420. Emmanuel says:

I think somewhere around 6 minutes would be fine, 3 minutes is to short. Maybe do the videos in various parts like other channels, spend a couple of minutes explaining the gear, then the rest of the time playing :)
    Happy Holidays

  421. Simo Kärki says:

I think that 6 minutes would be good. You can get a lot of solid info in that time.

  422. ralgy cepeda says:

I think that 6 minutes is a fair enough time for a pedal video.

  423. Jon J says:

Great end to the generous spree of gifts Juan! Even if I don’t win anything I appreciate this as well as your very informative demos. Have a great Holiday/New Year!
Here’s to a new year of great pedals to come.

  424. Angel says:

    Great Giveaway daily series ending!..LOL!
Thanks Juan for this amazing 12 days of giveaways!!

  425. majortom says:

i’m stuck between 6 min and 10 min … but if i had to choose i would say 6 minutes. i’ve got crappy internet connection so long videos are a hassle for me

  426. Jake Baldwin says:

    B) Six Minutes

  427. Quinn says:

    C) 10 minutes!! The more the merrier!
Merry Christmas Juan! This give away has been awesome, you’re the best! Cannot wait to hear what you’re gonna get up to in the year to come.

  428. matt says:

    J) No “juan” Cares, we are in awe with your scientific electrical skills. More full day experiments. Make a series, three part videos, l.a bass players, world bass players. Low end theory philosophers. You are becoming the change we need.

  429. Michael Salter says:

Three minute videos, keep that shit simple and to the point mang! Thanks for everything this year.

  430. John says:

Generally 3 minutes I reckon, short and sweet. But sometimes longer ones too.

  431. Eric says:

Option B, 6 minutes, will make for long enough videos. 6 minutes gives you enough time to go over the features of the pedal and demonstrate a couple settings. Short enough for most attention spans, and long enough to give guests the time to talk. I’ve come away from each video knowing more and my abilities being expanded. Thank you Juan for doing this awesome giveaway, takes a big heart to do this for your fans! Even if i don’t win i will be entering next year if you do it again. Keep doing what you’re doing!

  432. tc says:

as long as it takes to cover the topic appropriately without superfluous repetition & fluff, so some/most? will take 3 minutes, but for more complex ones if 10 minutes is called for, that’s also fine

  433. Alex says:

Merry Chrismas and happy new year!!!

  434. javito says:

felices fiestas a todosss!!! y feliz año nuevo!!!

  435. ross jeffreys says:

10 minutes because the other shorter choices cannot possibly hold you

  436. javito says:

    6 minutes

  437. Zane says:

    Ten minutes (at least!!!!!!!).

  438. Julianc says:

    B) 6 minutes

  439. Sergio Arteaga says:

Merry Chrismas and happy new year. Thank you, Juan. Good Luck

  440. ad says:

10-15 minutes would be the best.

  441. dexter says:

    10 minutes

  442. Fabiano Benetton says:

    6 minutes

  443. Uhl says:

Merry Christmas. Thank you Juan for this great blog and for sharing you knowledge with us!

  444. Dick says:

6 minutes for single pedals. 10minutes for things like fuzz offs. It’d be pretty cool to see other things like fuzz off with synth and octave pedals.

  445. Uhl says:

10 minutes. The longer the better!

  446. Frank Polgar says:

6 minutes is a good length.

  447. Daniel Gallego says:

felices fiestas y feliz navidad a todo el mundo!!

  448. Tony Miranda says:

I would love the videos to be at least 10 minutes. With each near gear that you present Juan I want as much in depth detail on how it sounds and what it works best with in any situation. I have never really been a huge pedal guy until I really started to research more into it and it does add more textures and layers to my sound now.

  449. Stacy says:

Depends on the gear, but something more involved should receive 10.

  450. Mike Hricik says:

Six minutes is my maximum attention span for most lesson videos, so that.

    Merry Christmas.

  451. Eric Y. says:

I think 6 minutes is a good happy medium – not too short, but not too long.

  452. Stefan says:

10 minutes. I like ‘em long.

  453. Bryn says:

6 minutes; enough time for a quick description if a pedal, the settings, how you can use it and play with it for a minute for two.

  454. Andreu Arevalo says:

I think 6 minutes would be enough. Merry Christmas!!

  455. Jorge says:

    Guay!!!!!!!!!

  456. banebass says:

    10 min !!! … maybe 15 min ….

  457. Peter says:

trying to win this for a friend!

  458. Ryan says:

I think the videos can vary in length, but I prefer an in depth look at things. 6-10 minutes is good.

  459. Peter says:

    6 minutes!

  460. Anonymous says:

However long it takes to go through all the parameters thoroughly. If you get carried away, all the better!

  461. James says:

    ^that’s me for the record

  462. Jose Miguel says:

    the longer, the better

  463. bassballs says:

Id say the longer the better so.. c.) 10 mins
the more info the better. great show.

  464. Wenayerba says:

    un video muy instructivo

  465. Keyser Sozé says:

    10 minutes! Full reviews!

  466. Stuart Johnson says:

    6-10 minutes!

  467. Pieter says:

10 minutes, more time for showing interesting sounds!

  468. Fuzzy says:

    B, 6 minutes

I originally thought 10 minutes to get the maximum time to learn about a pedal but I guess it depends on if your covering more than one pedal. 6 minutes should be long enough to show a few features whilst also giving some background on where you personally would place it in the chain, some nifty sounds you could make from it etc. If your doing any more videos like the fuzz wars or the rainbow machine where you have a guest who shares a love of pedals then I don’t think you should have a time limit, just let the camera roll and edit out what’s irrelevant. It’s great hearing you talk shop with fellow musicians, I hope you have more coming in the future!

Thank you for doing the 12 days of Christmas Juan, it’s given me something to look forward to every day of late. I blew up a PF-500 this year after saving up for it and shipping it to Australia, I learnt a lesson about voltages the hard way! I don’t know if you will read this or not but if you send it to someone outside of the US please remind them about the little switch on the back which goes from 110 to 230 volts, it was the worst moment of my year hearing that bang and it’s led to me using a mates amp ever since.

    Gracias

    Fuzzy

  469. Mark says:

    6 Minutes

  470. Jacob Fredrickson says:

I’d love for the videos to be around six minutes. It gives enough time to experiment with the pedals, explain a little more about the pedal, and as always just talk. It’d be more convinient to people who are constantly doing something in their day. Videos such as the Fuzz Wars saga are more suited to a 10 minute time line than most others.

  471. gtr1ab says:

6 minutes seem like the best overall.

  472. CHILDISHGAMBINO says:

    10 minutes.

  473. 6-10 minutes son!!!!! anything else is too long unless it’s about somethin real serious!!!

  474. Pete says:

Three minutes but more of them!!!

  475. Sara M says:

6 minutes is great. Not too short, long enough to be informative but not boring.

  476. hippy mota says:

    feliz navidad a todos

  477. Victor Goma says:

    B) 6 minutes

  478. Marc says:

    6 minutesssssss

  479. Pouya says:

    very nice

  480. Aaron Edzerza says:

    B) i suppose, I would honestly watch them at any length, even 10 minutes cuz I’m a wild man

  481. Daniel M says:

    6 minutes sounds about right

  482. Miguel says:

6 minutes is a good length

  483. Andrew says:

I’d watch any of them I think but I think 6 minutes (B) would be a happy middle ground! Thanks for doing all this, Juan!

  484. alex connor says:

I think 6 minutes is pretty good and maybe longer if the pedal demands it or if you’re riffing like a maniac.
    ; )

  485. Miguel says:

6 minutes is a good length!!

  486. toni lopez says:

    Thanks Juan! Merry Christmas,

  487. Pete says:

10 minute videos please! it’s a long enough time to really hear what a pedal can really do!

  488. toni lopez says:

Sorry, had not seen the survey. Well, I think the time may not always be the same, but if I have to choose, say 6 (the average).

  489. Courtney Copenhaver says:

    10 minutes for extensive detail!

  490. Antonio says:

A: Con tres minutos pueden verse muchas de las cualidades. Han de ser videos de muestra no tutoriales completos. Es la duración media de cualquier tema.

  491. Hmmmm, depends on what is being covered. But I feel like 10 minutes is cool for something more drawn out, or 3 minutes for something for shorter attention spans, like with a bunch of quick cuts. Also, the fuzz wars thing with Jonathan Hischke was awesome…would love to see more tie-ins like that.

  492. Erick D says:

10 mins for sure. The more time the better.

  493. Demis says:

    !0 minutes!!

  494. MattR says:

    B) 6 minutes would be perfect!

  495. Chris says:

    10 minutes yo.

  498. Bill Ryan says:

    Happy Holidays
    10 Minutes Please !!

  499. kevin.k says:

A 3 minutes, just short and awesome video’s straight to the point.

p.s. totally want to win this prize, must have it!

  500. Michael says:

    Juan,

I say the longer the better in most cases when making your videos. I work an office job and I am constantly listening to either music or YouTube videos ext while I work.

Personally I like to hear your opinion, and then I like to hear you play. I know the focus of p&e is the gear, but I think it is also awesome when you give technique advice and how you apply them to your set-up and what your trying to achieve musically. I am all about full-spectrum reviews and I really dig your site. Well done.

    Merry Christmas,
    Mike

  501. Mon says:

    B) 6 min vids are best!

If I win, I’d love to play PHAT Bass lines like this one below:

  502. A. Julio M. says:

I think 6 minutes is good. Enough to explain what the pedal sounds like but not a 3 minute video which I feel like that will be too short.

  503. John Fry says:

    Three minutes Thank-you.

  504. I would say anywhere from 6 to 10 minutes depending on what you’re covering :) . Love the fuzz wars.

  505. Steve Kheboian says:

    B 6 minutes

  506. moises says:

    i´d llike about 6 minutes

  511. Mon says:

    B) 6 minutes.

  512. Bas says:

  513. Miguel Casado says:

    C) 10 minutes, I like them.

  514. Nathan C says:

    B) 6 minutes

  519. Ben says:

    C) 10 minutes please

  520. Mon says:

    B. 6 min vid are best

  521. It really depends on the features that can be covered. A good average would be 6 minutes.

  522. Micah says:

    B) 6 sounds like a good in between #

  523. Ivan says:

    B) six minutes

  524. Villa says:

  525. Andrew says:

    C) 10 minutes, the more Juan the better!

  526. Alberto Moreta says:

    B. you can get a lot of information in 6 minutes.

  527. Anna says:

    6 minutes

  528. Ramon says:

    B) 6 min videos is best

  529. Alex says:

6 minutes for sure. Giving the basic functions of the device the first three minutes, then the crazy, experimental, outer space stuff you could with it the last three minutes.

  530. Lester says:

    C. 10 minutes. The longer the better!

  531. James says:

10 minutes, so we get a good overall idea of what the pedals can do.

  532. chrisb says:

    B) 6 min

    although I wouldn’t object to 10

  533. Simon bigg says:

I think 6 minutes is ideal, but without too much chat, more going through the possible sounds you can get from the pedal. Merry Christmas everyone!!

  534. carlos m says:

depends on what you are going to explain, but 6 minutes are well

  535. Anonymous says:

    6 minutes

  536. josepcardona says:

    6 minutes ideal total

  537. carl thomas says:

between 3 and 6 minutes. 10 is way too long unless you are doing A B testing on several.

    Sj

  551. Emilio says:

I would like the videos to be 3-6 minutes

  552. Xandre says:

    B) 6 minutes => enough

  553. Jake says:

10 minutes! No need to leave anything out if you’re already making the video

  554. Juan Parra says:

It depends on what the video is about. I think that things like fuzz wars should be OK with 3 minutes, so ir forces you to prepare some sweet comparison points. If you want to go deeper in demo-ing a pedal, 6 minutes.
10 minutes is a bit too long for the kind of content you are producing up until now, but if you were to demo a pedal and then play it in the context of a piece, and show the process from discovering a sound to incorporating it into a piece, perhaps 10 minutes is a good length.

but the easy answer: B (6 mins.)

  555. Travis says:

    B) 6 minutes

  556. Dave says:

Ten minute videos are preferable, especially when you are comparing different pedal brands like you did on fuzz wars. I like the detail of comparing all of the different parameters of each pedal.

  557. Dekker says:

I think (B) – 6 mins is about right for our internet attention spans!

  558. bryan says:

6 minutes! Happy Holidays Johnny!!! -b

    B) 6 minutes. I think that’s al right, not to short, not to long

    6 minutes.

    C) 10 minutes… Always so much to say :-)

  562. Rob says:

6 minutes for sure. I’ll get caught watching 10 minutes at work. Ha.

  563. Juan Felipe says:

    6 minutes

  564. Santiago Vergara says:

Woaau me gusta como suena ! ;)

    B) Six minutos!!

B:) 6 minutes!! That should cover what I need to know from the Demo!

  571. lobo says:

10 min wold be grea fr hearing diferent ways for sounds and playing

  572. Anna says:

    B) 6 minutes

  573. Shannon says:

    Thanks Juan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  574. Moises Lopez says:

I would say go with whatever is needed for each individual video. But as a pedal geek the more the better so 10 minutes is fine by me.

  575. Dave says:

Definetly 6 minute videos. The perfect length. Short enough to watch in a hurry and long enough to get what you need out of the video.

  576. Robert says:

    Six minutes sound fair enough!

  577. Zeke H. says:

I think 6 or 10, depending on what you’re reviewing. If it’s something complicated with a lot of features, 10, but otherwise 6 should do. Happy Holidays!

  578. Eddie says:

    10 minutes is perfect

  579. Jim says:

Definitely 10 minutes. The more, the merrier.

  580. Moses says:

Definitely 10 minutes at minimum. For reference take the recent Fuzz Wars series. I fail to see how so much info could be compressed into a 3 min or even 6 min video. Regardless I appreciate all the work you do on this site Juan. Muchas Gracias

  581. Brad says:

    10
    The more the merrier!

  582. Arnold says:

Please let your videos be 10 minutes long! :-) I like it!

  583. Janne says:

    B) 6 – approximately. I think it depends on the subject a lot. Some videos are good kept short, whereas others benefit of more length (like the fuzz wars).

  584. Nico Travaini says:

    C) 10 minutes ! actually I’ll say freetime, just the time you need to explain the features of every pedal !

  585. oscdetuner says:

obtain all the universe of ideas from a video it’s very important, ten minutes is a very good idea!!!

  586. Dave MacRae says:

    c) ten minutes would be awesome!

  587. SIMON says:

NICELY DONE! I LOVE THAT VID! B) 6 mins would be actually a perfect length. Each minute you can dedicate a pedal to then the last minute, you can go mental on everything. HAPPYYYYY HOLLLIDDAAAAYSS EVERYONE!

  588. Austin says:

    please please please

  589. Austin says:

    Ummm…. B 6 minutes!!

  590. David Richard says:

    B) 6 minutes if you’re featuring one pedal. Plenty of time to explain the pedal and show what it can do. The Fuzz Wars should be longer, however.

  591. Jeremy W says:

I would rather them be longer than shorter. The way you thoroughly explain what the pedals and effects are and how they work is brilliant. Very inspiring and informative. Just don’t stop making them Juan!

  592. vince says:

3 minutes is fine for me. focused ‘n right to the point videos :) ))

  593. James says:

I would say 6, enough time for a comprehensive look at a singular pedal and all it’s features!

  594. Emilio says:

10 minutes would be great. I’m a beginner, so thorough explanations for endless possibilities would be awesome. :D

  595. Mike O says:

    C) 10 minutes, if not even longer !

  596. Filip says:

    10. Or whatever makes you happy! :)

  597. Andrew says:

    6 Minutes is good

  598. André says:

    b) except for fuzz wars, those can be as long as you like it :)

  599. Anonymous says:

    c) 10 minutes the more info the better

  600. Yvette says:

    b) 6 minutes

  601. Danny says:

    10 minutes is best

  602. Kaylon says:

    b) 6 minutes

  603. Posido Vega says:

6 minutes…. Doug E Fresh and your on! uh uh on!

  604. Ben says:

3 minutes, I watch on my phone. Maybe two 3 minute videos, one with all the info on what it is and how to get basic tones and a follow up with more tones/jams/longer chains

  605. Mark says:

10 minutes feels like the right length, long enough to explore the settings on most pedals.

  606. Francisco Prado says:

    Six minutes!

  607. darren mills says:

10 minutes – all the information you provide is very helpful,

  608. Ruben says:

3 minutes would be great for an overview, 6 minutes seems like a good length for some deeper details.

  609. Everrett Thompson says:

ten min! the more info and sound the better! i love your vids Juan!

  610. rory T says:

I reckon B) 6 minutes is good as it is short but sweet ie it has enough info but is not too long :)

  611. MarianoVolta says:

I like longer videos. So I’m going with C 10 minutes. Merry Christmas

  612. javier urra says:

    6 minutes

  613. Jeremy says:

3 mins! Any longer and I lose focus

  614. Answer this question in the comments section of this blog post. How long would you like the videos on PedalsAndEffects to be? A) 3 minutes B) 6 minutes C) 10 minutes

I would like them to be 10 minutes of full on pedals and effects in my face!! aaawww yyyeahhh. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

  615. Nomar says:

    6 mins

  616. bob_diablo says:

    C. 10 minutes sounds just right.. A lot of pedal combinations means a lot of knobs to play around with, so you would have to have time to explore all those possibilities. Cheers Juan you’re great!

  617. Antony N says:

    b) 6 minutes

  618. Bert says:

I think six minutes is the perfect length. It’s long enough to have a decent jam and show the soundscape and discuss features and usability but not too long as to drag on. It’s a short enough burst to stay interested but not too short to keep us wanting.
    Keep up the GREAT work!

  619. David says:

10 minutes would be best. It’d allow you to go more in depth with information and demonstrations.

  620. Mark Dyer says:

    10 minutes is fine.

  621. Jacob says:

I would like your videos to be about b) 6 Minutes to c) 10 Minutes because, b) is a good time for video not too long but c) is also good because people could proberly learn more.

  622. Francisco says:

I would like the videos to be about 6 minutes long, not too short, not too long

  623. MV says:

    6 minute videos

  624. trevor says:

My brother is a bass player and I would love to be able to give this to him for christmas!

  625. jorge says:

    10 minutes is the best

  626. Nik says:

    B) 6 minutes

  627. trevor says:

I think 6 minutes is a good length, not too long to bore some people and not to short where you feel like you didnt see enough.

  628. Desiree Linton says:

    B) 6 minutes

  629. Kevin Gibbs says:

    B. 6 minutes is good.

  630. The Verm says:

    6min!

  631. CaeX says:

I like them as long as possible, and I like to see each pedal really in depth, but 6 minutes is fine too. But 3 minutes is way too short. So B. 6 minutes.

  632. i vote 10 minutes! we would have more time to experiment and discuss and really explore the pedals capabilities!

  633. GregB says:

    3 minutes

  634. Paul says:

    C) 10 Minutes. Why wouldn’t you want more advice and demoing in the review?

  635. j says:

I would say 6 minutes. In that time, I would go over the pros and cons of the pedal including not just the settings. Also more pedals tailored towards bassists. thanks! Feliz Navidad.

  636. Trent says:

The 12 days giveaway has been great Juan, in particular the Mono, Earthquaker and Ampeg comps.
    Great work!

  637. Shawn Wile says:

6 minutes seems to be pretty standard

  638. scHism says:

6 minutes, just the right length.
    Merry Christmas! ;)

  639. Trent says:

Re video length, I’d lean towards B) 6min.

  640. Dorothy Davidson says:

    Merry Christmas!

  641. joel nathanael says:

10 minutes would be perfect. not only could you demo the pedal but demo the pedal and how it reacts with other pedals and in different positions.

  642. Hank says:

    C) 10 minutes

  643. Peter Trott says:

i could sure use this amp!

  644. Paul says:

I recommend 3-5 minutes per pedal or device. You don’t always have the same # of things to demo so you can’t make all your videos the same length. 3-5 minutes give enough time to showcase all the bells and whistles, so to speak.

  645. jas says:

6 minutes is good…and will likely leave us wanting more!

  646. Joe Capps says:

    B) 6 minutes seems pretty perfect to me! Happy Christmas Juan!

  647. Frank Abruzzo says:

C-10 min I think that would leave enough time to hear the pedal and to discuss the way you like to use it.

  648. Rafael minerbo says:

10 minutes for shure. When someone like juan is going to talk about gear, you wanna hear all he knows. And damn juan knows a lot

  649. NR says:

I recommend 6 minutes per pedal or device.

  650. Mikael Heck says:

I would say “B” (6 minutes) for most videos. That said, if there is an item that you are showcasing/demoing that is unusually awesome or has a lot of options I would up the to “C” (10 minutes).

    Just sayin.

  651. Carl D says:

Thanks for the twelve days of give aways.
I think 6 mins is about right for most people’s attention spans. LOL!

  652. Chad Persel says:

Six minutes for demo videos. Thanks for all you do Juan. You’re a true innovator and inspiration.

  653. Ian McKenna says:

6 minutes! You can get straight to the point and hit all the bases and then have more time to bust out more videos on more different pedals!

  654. Ana says:

Feliz navidad, Juan! A ti, a tu familia y todos tus amigos :)

  655. Ana says:

C!! Me gustan los videos largos

  656. Sam Bucca says:

Awesome. Don’t get hung up on video length, those who want/love your demos, will watch it regardless. Much love from Australia!

  657. Tate Allyn Peterson says:

    I would love that!

  658. 10 minutes!!! Let’s go deep!

  659. Ezequiel says:

    6 minutes!!

  660. aj says:

    B) 6 minutes, I have a short attention span.

  661. conor says:

    10 minutes please!

  662. Julie says:

6 minutes – not too short & not too long.

  663. JoeG says:

    C) 10 minutes, the more detail the better! :D

  664. Robert Aurand says:

I guess to me it depends on the content. If you are showing how to get the best out of a classic 2 knob phaser or something, then 3 minutes might be enough. However, if you are showing how to get the best out of a modern effect by adding an expression pedal, (like to one of the Electro Harmonix, or Pigtronics) then that could take 10 minutes or more. How about one on how to troubleshoot a complex setup?

  665. Felipe says:

6 minutes – not too short & not too long.

  666. Aaron Clarke says:

B to C. I like a comprehensive view of a pedal, but 10 might be pushing it for some pedals.

  667. fxg10 says:

3 – 6 minutes, depending on the complexity of the effect being covered. If it runs over because you’re playing some killer groove, I won’t complain.

  668. bassasaurus says:

    Yes! Yes! Dont stop rockin!!!

  669. Arthur says:

    6 minutes would be slick.

    A

  670. Dean says:

    b) 6 minutes seems to be a happy medium. Long enough to get the information and hear what the gear has to offer, short enough that there’s no “skippable” content. Keep them up though, love the vids.

  671. Chris Yee says:

6-10 minutes vids are best… the more informative the better!

  672. Elle says:

I would say a 6-10 minute video is long enough. It gives enough time to cover the basics as well as give proper demos for the effects. It’s not too long as to divert attention away from it.

  673. Charlie Short says:

Six minutes is a perfect amount for videos, but I like the longer ones, too. Fuzz Wars are pretty awesome.

  674. Anonymous says:

    I would say 6-10 minutes

  675. Anonymous says:

feliz navidad to you, Juan. And let 2013 be as great as a thing that is very great! Buyayaah~!

  676. Chris says:

10 minute minimum. Some topics would be good to have even longer videos. Most of the pedal demos so far seem to go no further than simply scratching the surface of what is capable with them.

  677. Dylan says:

    Probably 6 minutes.

  678. Nik says:

    6 minutes

  679. Brady says:

The full 10 mins. Get the FULL effect of the…uh…effects.

  680. Edie says:

I think that 6 minutes would be a good length. Short and sweet. I also hope I win this amp for my son because he really needs it right now.

  681. Shane says:

B/ or C/ As long as they need to be. Something can be explained very quickly but showing versatility is tricky and can take some time. I really like Pete Thorn’s demo’s, where he explains things and then throws a song together showing different settings and sounds.

  682. marcusprice says:

I’ll watch no matter what, but I think 6 minute is a great amount of time – especially for people unfamiliar with your site.

  683. Chris says:

B – 6 Minutes. I think it’s long enough without being too short. 10 minutes seems a bit too long. However, I would like to see you using the pedals in band situations more and more behind the scenes stuff with different bands and different people’s rigs and pedals

  684. daniel hargrove says:

6 mins. works for me. good medium.

  685. Paul says:

how about 10 minute videos with a structure such that someone can fast forward 4 min to get to the action if they dont feel like going so in depth? thanks for everything juan & co!

  686. suzuzaku says:

Most definitely 10 minutes, more content is always better.

  687. mike y. says:

    “B” … not too short, not too long & a favorite #

  688. Mark says:

Love the video. Great review of pedals

  689. Mark says:

    C) 10 mins is good

  690. spiroagnew says:

    Depends on the pedal!

  691. Gabriel says:

I’m going to say B.6 minutes. It provides a good medium between having a good, detailed explanation of the pedal, with some playing examples or settings/effects, and having a video that that you don’t even feel like bothering getting through.

All the best to you, Juan!

  692. Mark L Hauenstein says:

6 is enough for most subjects,,, 10 is not unreasonable to watch,,,

  693. Richard Wortman says:

6 minutes would cover most topics.

  694. Garry L. Todd says:

Love the contests, and thanks for everything Juan!!!

  695. Fernando says:

    B) 6 minutes

  696. Henry G says:

6 concise minutes. I come to your site because you dig deeper than other YouTube demos and reviews- the more info, the better.

  697. L D Wernet says:

I go short…3 min. max of my attention span

  698. Patricia says:

5 mins. Short and sweet :)

  699. Diego says:

    6 minutes is my preference.

  700. Channing says:

I think six minutes would be perfect. Three is too short and ten gets to be too long. There isn’t enough time in three minutes to really dig into the effects and ten minutes gets boring because there usually isn’t ten minutes worth of different things to do.

  701. RICHARD CARPENTER says:

THE Ampeg PF-500 Bass Amplifier and PF115HE Bass Cabinet REALLY SOUND GOOD.

  702. C Barrie says:

10mins works for me. If you’re going to help me learn how to use all this tech… I want as much as I can get!! Starting a tour with my band bella cajon tomorrow..taking my CS-3, Marshall Gov’nor and Crybaby with me :) . Check us out Juan!!! http://www.bellacajon.com/

  703. Kenstee says:

    3 min max!

  704. Vince says:

    ahhhh!!!!! last minute

  705. Ken says:

Merry Christmas, now back to the woodshed!

  706. Gerald Guerrero says:

    6mins would be great!

  707. David Alexander McDonald says:

Good question, this. I tens to prefer the shorter length three minutes, get in, cover the gear and sound, get out, no fuss. However, sometimes you really need to take time to cover things, and even ten minutes might not be quite enough,. A sliding scale of length, then, I;d say. Not the easiest answer, but I think it’s right.

  708. Lawrence says:

    Pedals!

  709. arie shapira says:

usually 6 minutes is good for enough.
occasionaly you need a longer video, but usually you can go thriugh all the necessary functions and sounds in 6 minutes.

  710. Christophe says:

I would say B for one pedal or C for a comparison or multi-pedal demo.

  711. Claude says:

This has been a great contest and a lot of fun stopping by every day. You should do this EVERY day *grin*

  712. Claude says:

I think they should be at least 6 minutes. You can’t demo anything fully in less time.

  713. Ryan says:

Honestly, you are an excellent pedal reviewer and you seem to thoroughly cover all aspects of the pedals you review. Just keep up the good work, I appreciate it, and i’ll watch a 2 hour review if you rock it!

  714. John says:

Love the demo… my lord what a rig.
Also, the giveaways over the last few days have been ridiculously awesome!
    Merry Christmas!

  715. Bruce C says:

10 mins or more is my preferred video length. Juan and co. love to talk about gear and the finer details that not all folks out there appreciate. That is really what I think this site is all about anyhow: a place for all the guitar/bass nerds out there to learn and share. Take the time. Those that are truly interested and really want to learn will appreciate it and those who prefer something shorter can always skim through or I guess there’s always Twitter!

  716. John says:

P.S. I think 3 minute videos generally get the job done. You get enough time to go through the layout and check out several different settings.

  717. Peter Olausson says:

    B) 6 minutes.

10 minutes is a bit long except for when you´re covering a more complex pedal.

oh and btw I know you dont book your tours yourselves but PLEAASE try and come to
Gothenburg for a show at any venue except the totally crappy one called Pustervik here.

Mars Volta has a small army of fans here and we STILL haven´t gotten to see you rock
    our humble town.

  718. Jeff says:

6 minutes is good. Long enough to get a lot of information and playing in but not too long that it drags on.

  719. I hope I get to win this last prize, good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

  720. 10 min would be great!

  721. Ritch says:

    I think 6 worked well

  722. Justin Sawhill says:

    Meeeeeerry Christmas!

  723. Justin Sawhill says:

    A, 3 minutes.

  724. ryan says:

10 minutes! the longer the better!

  725. Eric Planer says:

    Juan,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win these awesome gifts. No other artist that i have seen has ever gone to the lengths you have with pedals and effects to share your wealth of knowledge and your connections with these prizes. Even if I don’t win I will still be looking out for your YouTube videos and will frequent the site often.

    -Eric

  726. Maxx Diaz says:

Six minutes would be a good average length. Although if a pedal is more detailed or useful, I’d love for you to go into more detail.

  727. Ricky Wilson says:

6 minutes sounds like a good time frame

  728. Joshua Colon says:

    C) 10 minutes!!!!!

  729. Ian says:

    6 minutes is perfect!

  730. Rob says:

    10 mins!

  731. thora says:

    I think 6 min is perfect. , )

  732. Andrew says:

Three to six. We get the idea.

  733. wayne says:

I vote six min. that sounds just about right!

  734. Felix Avadyaev says:

    B, six min is good

  735. B) 6 minutes! Love the vids!

  736. AJH says:

6 minutes. Meet in the middle.

  737. Ryan Aylward says:

10 mins. The more in-depth the better!

  738. dfredman says:

They should be no longer than two minutes. Quick demo for 30 seconds of everything the pedal does and then Juan talking about why he likes it. Follow up with a link to the manufacturer’s website. If it takes longer than two minutes to describe it, it follows that the pedal would be too difficult to use in live performance or in the studio, no?

  739. Ignacio says:

    Merry Chsitsmas!!!

  740. sam says:

    happy holidays!!!!!!!!!!!
