REVIEW: Rainbow Machine by Earthquaker Devices
I always want to collaborate with Jonathan Hischke and he is always cool enough to roll through my studio and pedal nerd it with me. I thought what would be cool is to have both of us did a demo of Earthquaker Devices’ Rainbow Machine! Having not spent any real time with the device, I wanted to see what each of us came up with, independently of each other. Here is what happened. – Juan Alderete

Love it! reminds me of the sound at the end of “army of me” by Bjork. glad the site is up and poppin.
Hey Juan! It would be cool if the site had somethin like a forum, whit a section named ‘Questions to Juan’ and you could solve people’s doubts. Kind of a bass FAQ. Just a thought.
Keep it fresh
Hi! Came to share my two cents… First of all, it’s really great someone created a site like this and I wish the best for it. I’m really inspired by your work in the Mars Volta. Although I’m aware that most, if not all of the basslines come straight from Omar (at least until now), it’s still important imo that they chose you of all to play them. And, as far as I understand, the live renditions of the songs are more controlled by you, so it’s still great!
Anyway, off to some critique: I don’t know about your plans in the future but personally I wouldn’t like to just have some meddling with a pedal you haven’t played with, yet, but rather some of your tips, thoughts, methods of choosing effects. As in, what sounds great, what doesn’t (in your opinion, of course), how you overcame various problems or made them work beneficially, maybe some cool sounds you’ve created, how you created them etc.
I hope that wasn’t too vague. Cheers, I’ll be in hope of seeing better and better stuff here!
man i want one its like the digitech multiplay and here in argentina i cant find one how can i get one of those rainbow machines here?? thanks a lot
Damn that thing is nuts. Maybe the amp wasn’t mic’d… but does that thing just kill your lows? Neat pedal though.
