Pigtronix Mothership Analog Synthesizer
The Mothership Analog Synthesizer has seen some serious time on my pedalboards. I used it the last time The Mars Volta played Australia’s traveling summer festival, Big Day Out, when Muse was the headliner. Their crew asked me how I was getting the synth sounds that had the big low end. I’ll share with you what I told them- that low end comes from the sub octave that is on the Mothership. Also, the ring modulator makes my bass sound like a vintage Moog synthesizer. I really think any musician would benefit from this amazing pedal- it has so much sound potential that I made four audio clips in this video to show how versatile it is. In two of the clips, I added the Pigtronix Disnortion pedal. The Disnortion is a parallel fuzz and overdrive with an octave up option for the Hendrix type Octavia sounds.
I hope you make it to your local music store to check out the insane Pigtronix line for yourself. I’d also like to thank Pigtronix for supporting me and The Mars Volta over the years. Your pedals have helped me create all kinds of distinct sounds that ultimately contribute to better live shows and music in general.

Reminds me of some old video game sounds, very interesting. Cool pedal to make different kind on feelings for your music!
Nice video – way to take it to another level!
I just got this pedal literally a few days ago so I am happy to see you doing a video about it. Also this is the best video that you’ve done so far Juan.
The Mothership and Disnortion have soo man great sounds it’s hard to just choose just one. I think I am going to order a few more Motherships!
Awesome demo! I want to see a vid where you attach this to the WMD GEIGER COUNTER BIT CRUSHER!
That was wild.
Great video Juan. I really like how you chopped up your sound and blended it with the drums. Hope you do more demos like this.
Love it Juan. I can tell you put some effort into making this video and it shows. Much appreciated man!
Sounds like Vato Negro to me! Gooooood stuff man. That thing can make any bassline sound insane! I saw in a youtube video someone was getting kinda dr. dre synth sounds out of it on guitar. It was dope. I still want one. If anyone has a sweet deal on one hit me up.
Sounds cool, gonna try one..
