MXR Phase 100 Review

This pedal is a staple on my pedalboards. If I know I am going to do some jamming, it is perfect for dub jams, Pink Floyd-esque jams, stoner jams. It works by adding an envelope to your sound that gives it that undeniable bass swoop. I prefer the MXR Phase 100 to their 90 because I like the added control of the parameters.

More tahn envelope it’s like it duplicates the signal and sets one of them out of phase

What happnes with that boosting and cutting oflow end and high end is that since it’s the original signal + the same signal out of phase it starts adding up on the peaks and cutting dB on the valleys.

its a very cool stuff to hipnotize the audience. if you do jams or soundscapes live you have to got one of these !!!

I use all my pedals before the bass amp. I never use effects loops. And yes, I tend not to get too technical but phaser = out of phase. Thank you.

So go with the 100 for more control. 90 is more micro then. I’m going to have to check out the 100. I’ve been playing with the 90 for a few months now.

I found this pedal used at a guitar center a couple of weeks after I saw this post, and I bought it solely off your recommendation, needless to say I love this pedal. It was a great buy for $60.
