What are people using for practice/small amps? I just picked up an Acoustic B30, which I'm really enjoying thus far. It has a 12 inch speaker for a rich low end. It also has a built in compressor which is actually half-way decent. The overdrive channel is okay, but I have pedals for that, right? Just figured I'd open up a thread in case anyone is looking at combos or practice amps.

I'm looking for a practice amp! I have a double stack and it can get pretty annoying hauling it from place to place. I was thinking about the 25 or 50 watt combo Orange amp. Anybody have any experience with it for bass?

I looked really hard at that Orange 50 BXT. It sounds great, but was just a little out my price range unfortunately.

I just picked up an Ampeg 50w 12". It's has a style knob from 1 to 5. 1 sounding real low and 5 real high end. It's pretty loud to me since I'm used to playing on a rumble 15. I connected my cs-2 and oc-2 to it and I am blown away. Really Lovin this amp.

My good friend who i started playing bass with in his parents basement growing up, bought a used Acoustic B450 combo so we could Jam when i come back home to visit. (nicest guy around, i know)
The size and weight of it really wasn't bad, fit in the backseat standing up and i thought the tone of it was pretty good. The volume was plenty to keep up with loud drumming and had a nice lower volume tone too. I got it to sound pretty mid-rangy but it will also pump out bass. My buddy played a drum beat that sounded dub-ish so i cranked the low end and a minute later he kept pointing behind me and laughing, i turned around and the combo had moved about 6 feet backwards and was only held from moving further by the power cord!(it didn't have wheels)
Anyway, the b450 worked good for me. The B200 would maybe be even better for a practice amp but i haven,t tried one.
Anyone use those Ampeg combo's?
