First Annual Fuzz-Off

Coming this week to Pedals And Effects: our first annual “Fuzz Off!” Jonathan Hischke (Broken Bells) and I will go head to head with some of our favorite fuzz pedals and blow some speakers.

Feel free to tell us what your favorite fuzz pedal is in the comments section of this post, and maybe we will get it in the competition. I have never been so excited about a video installment and I am sure Jonathan is going to have a completely different take on fuzz with electric bass.

Also Idk if you’re a big overdrive fan but if you haven’t checked it out look up the Darkglass b3k overdrive. Troy from Mastodon uses one. Hit up Douglas Castro for one man they are incredibly versatile pedals.

Appart from the moden / boutique / bass dedicated fuzzes everyone mentionend, something I would really like to hear and know, is a AB comparison between the real Muff deal (either the black or green russian) and all the boutique fuzzes that claims to be “true recreations” of the vintage …somethin like a “blind test” to finlaly know if there is a way to replace a vintage one, with a less collector item.

  43. Martin says:

The fuzz war maybe wouldn’t be complete without including a DBA FUZZ WAR :3
