12 Days Of PedalsAndEffects, Day 6: Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky Bass Strings
Ernie Ball has been an extremely generous to me- I’ve been endorsing their bass strings for fifteen years and now I am happy to say they consistently give me new reasons to be excited. Ernie Ball has come up with some revolutionary new strings called Cobalt Slinky Bass Strings. These strings are not like any nickel or steel strings that bassists are accustomed to- the cobalt in these strings provide a stronger magnetic relationship between pickups and strings than any other alloy. What does this mean? A bigger dynamic range, incredible harmonic content, increased low end, and crisp, articulate highs. When dealing with pedals, you want to feed the pedals as much tonal information as you can to get the most sound out of them. Why would you choose any other string?
