Ampeg Sub Blaster + Fairfield Four Eyes = prepare to rattle! [pedal chaining & review]
I have loved this Ampeg Sub Blaster since they sent it to me years ago. I was already heavily into pedals so getting this pedal got me as excited as getting a new Ampeg bass amplifier. I knew the one thing this pedal would have is low end because that is what Ampeg is known for…and I was right. Rattle the ceilings type low end. Making this video, I was rattling the lights in the 5starr Sound Labs studio. The octaves in it are so wide and heavy sounding . Besides demonstrating what a great pedal the Sub Blaster is, I also combined it with a Fairfield Four Eyes Crossover Fuzz. I picked this particular fuzz because this is a versatile fuzz box. It has a wide operating range of the frequency control, switchable resonance and the three drive pots that allows this pedal to get into really defined shaping. From extreme to relatively subtle; from super thin to over the top fat, I knew it would be a great fuzz to combine with this sub.

What’s the difference between this sub blaster and the Ampeg scrambler?
the scrambler is a distortion right? any good?
hey Juan, What happened with the 1997 Instructional video u made are you ganna put it up?
My subwoofer would like to thank you for giving it something worthwhile to do. Also, I can’t wait to hear your low end in person on the house subs! One day!
The Scrambler is a distortion that adds upper octave harmonic content so it is over the top too.
What are you using as your loop pedal? Just curious…
Wow. When that low octave kicks in with the distortion it made my headphones rattle!
The Line 6 DL-4 is the looper I use
Is it the same as the Meat Box? Or is it more like an octave down pedal?
